Pajama Storytime Around The World ||| Wednesday, March 7 7:00 - 7:30pm
Join us for a half hour of multicultural stories,
rhymes and songs for children aged two to six and their caregivers. Children
are welcome to come in pajamas and bring a small stuffed toy. Registration is
required.
International Women's Day at Muriel Arnason Library Thursday, March 8, 2012 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm: Langley's International Festival Society, and Muriel Arnason Library proudly presents 'International Women's Day', and everyone is cordially invited to many attractions of the day including the international refreshments, henna (presentation for everyone, but getting it applied needs registration), open discussion on this special day, sharing secrets of your success or getting suggestions, and an amazing display on the most successful Canadian women in different fields. Come and Join us to support this day to make sure that every woman gets respect in our community.

Family Storytimes Around the World ||| Tuesday, March 6th, and March 27, 10:45am-11:15am
Introduce your young child to the world of books. Children ages 2-6 and their caregivers are invited to join library staff for a half-hour program of stories, songs, puppets and rhymes. Registration is required.

Henna ||| Thursday, March 8th - 6:00pm-8:00pm
The library is offering a free henna program for teens
and adults. The art form of applying henna is also known as Mehndi. This form
of body art has become popular with people all over the world. Teens are highly encouraged to
attend. Registration is required.
Crafts from Around the World ||| Tuesday, March 20th - 2:30pm-4:30pm
Celebrate Multicultural Month at the library! Children
ages 5 and up are invited to create some crafts from around the world. All
supplies are provided. Drop-in.
World of Mineral Treasures ||| Wednesday, March 21st - 7:00pm-8:00pm
Ray Hill, a longtime amateur mineralogist and
gemologist, presents a colourful slide-show and talk featuring amazing gem and
mineral treasures from countries all over the world, including Korea, Pakistan,
India, Canada, China, USA and more! Ray will also share some of the cultural
facts and myths associated with these treasures. Registration
is required.
Multicultural Contests and Quizzes for all ages
During the month of March, there will be a number of contests and quizzes for all ages. Please participate to win the prizes. It will also be a very good opportunity to learn more about other countries.

History of Muriel Arnason Library
Muriel Arnason Library (previously known as Willowbrook Library) was opened on October 29, 2005. It is the newest branch of Fraser Valley Regional Library.
On Monday, February 25, 2008, the library was renamed the Muriel Arnason Library. Muriel Arnason was the first woman elected as councillor in the Township of Langley and served for many years. She sat on the Board of Directors of the Fraser Valley Regional Library during the 1980s and 1990s.
Wendy Kesselring was the first Community Librarian, and at this time, Sarwan Singh Randhawa is supervising the branch.
